Water flow and levels

Tasmania can be paradise, but river flows and levels can change rapidly. So if you’re heading out on the water, know the facts and be careful.

Flow is generally reported as megalitres per day (ML/day). 1000 ML/day is equivalent to 11.57 cubic metres per second (cumecs). River flows and lake levels can change rapidly because of rain and operational hydropower needs. We cannot provide guarantees or predictions about flows or lake levels. Recreational users should be cautious.
