Further policies and procedures relating to workplace health safety and environmental topics are available through the Resource Hub. Your Hydro Tasmania representative can also support you with any queries you have and should be your first point of contact for any work being undertaken.
Our systems align with the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 45001 - Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Our system is constantly being improved and we regularly publish Alert and Brief notifications on this page, so please check back here and in the Resource Hub regularly for updates.

Reporting every incident, hazard and near miss, allows us to learn from what happened and make our workplace safer for everyone. For further details on incident management, including our Incident Escalation Process and Guide to Fair Play, please see the links below.
All contractors are to report all incidents and hazards directly to their Hydro Tasmania contact as per the Incident Management and Investigation procedure.
Where a contractor is appointed to manage a Hydro Tasmania workplace (i.e. a Principal or Lead contractor), reporting is completed via the Contractor-in-Charge Incident Reporting Tool detailed within contractual arrangements.

Our HSE induction is available as an online module if instructed person training is not required. Please follow the External Learners Guide to Completing Online WHS Training to register and complete.
For contractors working under our Permit to Work system who require Instructed Person (IP) training, this training is available face to face only and is completed along with the HSE induction. Please see the HSE Induction & training dates for contractors document below to book a session.
For contractors trained in Person in Charge requiring their PIC refresher, this is available as an online module if the training has only just expired or is about to expire. Please follow the External Learners Guide to Completing Online WHS Training below to register and complete.
All person's working for Hydro Tasmania are required to complete a Demonstration of Understanding (DOU) to verify their skills when operating certain types of equipment. Please follow the DOU link below for a list of items that require a DOU assessment. Your Hydro Tasmania contact can provide further information or see our WHS Training, Awareness and Competency Procedure.
