Tamar Valley Power Station Aerial

Tamar Valley Power Station

For more than a century, our power stations have electrified Tasmania. We’re working to generate clean, reliable electricity today and for generations to come.

Tamar Valley Power Station

The Tamar Valley Power Station, adjacent to the Bell Bay Power Station, was commissioned by Aurora Energy.

The 386 MW station has 208 MW of combined-cycle gas generation (CCGT) from a Mitsubishi M701DA turbine and 178 MW of open-cycle gas generation (OCGT) from a 58 MW Rolls Royce Trent 60WLE and 3 x 40 MW Pratt & Whitney FT8 Twin Pac.

The Tamar Valley Power Station has annual environmental reviews (AER), which ensure compliance with the station’s environmental protection notice (EPN). View the latest Annual Environmental Review.
