Eel deaths in Tamar River

Hydro Tasmania was made aware earlier this month about a number of dead eels washed up on the banks of the Tamar River. At this time of year the short-finned eels migrate downstream as part of their long journey to the Coral Coast off northern Australia to spawn.

Bureau and Hydro Tasmania power on with critical agreement

Hydro Tasmania and the Bureau of Meteorology have extended our Strategic Relationship Agreement with Hydro Tasmania for another four years, with BOM providing expert meteorological and climatological services to inform decision-making and planning for our operations.
