Poatina oil leak contained with minimal impact
Hydro Tasmania can confirm that one of the generators at Poatina Power Station has had an oil leak, which has been contained with minimal impact.
Downstream irrigators and the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) have been notified, and our teams are working with the EPA on the clean-up, which includes work at the reregulation pond at the end of the Poatina Power Station tailrace.
Our team is investigating the cause of the leak. There is no impact on energy security.
