Boat ramp closure at Lake Gairdner
Hydro Tasmania advises that the only formally recognised boat ramp at Lake Gairdner will be closed temporarily from this weekend, as the result of scheduled power station maintenance.
Agreement with Bell Bay Aluminium
Hydro Tasmania has reached a commercial agreement with Bell Bay Aluminium that will help Tasmania manage the current low water storage situation, due to low inflows and the current Basslink outage.
Changed access to boat ramps
Hydro Tasmania and Marine and Safety Tasmania advise that low water levels have affected the availability of boat ramps at three lakes: Lake Echo, Lake King William and Woods Lake.
Entura welcomes one of India’s most eminent geologists
Specialist power and water consulting firm Entura has appointed Dr Tapanjyoti Mukhopadhyay to the dual role of Principal Geologist and team manager, based in its New Delhi office, in India. Dr Mukhopadhyay is one of India’s most eminent geologists, with more than 22 years of experience in hydropower projects ranging from 20 MW to 3000 MW located in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Nigeria and Burundi.
Basslink update and Government response
An update on the energy situation was provided on 12 February by Energy Minister Matthew Groom.
