Poatina – boil water (permanent alert)

Visitors to Poatina should boil all water before using it for:drinkingcooking or food preparationmaking icepreparing baby formulabrushing teethBring water to a rolling boil with a continuous stream of bubbles. Kettles with automatic shut-off are suitable. After boiling, store water in a clean, closed container.Drinking unboiled water may cause illness, particularly for pregnant women, infants and young children. There is no increased risk for pets.If you feel unwell after consuming water, contact your GP or the Department of Health on 1800 671 738.

Lake Plimsoll – boat ramp closed when lake level is high (permanent alert)

To ensure public safety, the Lake Plimsoll boat ramp boom gate is closed to prevent access to the boat ramp when the lake is within 0.3m of its full supply level. You can check the current level here.It can be very dangerous to be near the lake when levels are high, so please do not enter when the gate is closed. The gate will only reopen when Lake Plimsoll is lower than 0.3 m from full, and when it is not expected for the lake to spill in the coming week.

Lake Mackintosh – campground and boat ramps closed when lake level is high (permanent alert)

To ensure public safety, the spillway road gate closes when the lake is within 0.3m of full supply. See current levels here.It can be very dangerous to use the spillway road when lake levels are high, so please do not enter when the gate is closed. The gate will only reopen when Lake Mackintosh is lower than 0.3 m from full, and when it is not expected for the lake to spill in the coming week.

Visitors to Gowrie Park should not consume water from the local reticulated supply. Boiling will not make the water safe for:drinkingcooking or food preparationmaking icepreparing baby formulabrushing teeth.Drinking the water is a low risk for pets; if concerned, please contact your veterinarian.If you feel unwell after consuming water, contact your GP or the Department of Health on 1800 671 738.

Bailey Bridge (permanent alert)

The Bailey Bridge on Lake Repulse Road is permanently closed.Locked boom gates have been installed at both ends, restricting vehicle access. Walking, horse riding and cycling across the bridge are still permitted.The load rating has been reduced from 7 tonnes to 3.5 tonnes to allow safe operation for access to the Repulse Power Station only.Residents of Dawson Road, and others who normally use the bridge, are encouraged to access Dawson Road via Ellendale Road (south of Ouse).If travelling in the area, please exercise caution.For further information, contact us on 1300 360 441 or contactus@hydro.com.au
