To ensure public safety, the spillway road gate closes when the lake is within 0.3m of full supply. See current levels here.

It can be very dangerous to use the spillway road when lake levels are high, so please do not enter when the gate is closed. The gate will only reopen when Lake Mackintosh is lower than 0.3 m from full, and when it is not expected for the lake to spill in the coming week.
