Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan

Listening to the lived experiences and feedback of Aboriginal people and organisations across Lutruwita/Tasmania, we have developed an enduring commitment that aims to foster connection and mutual learning with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We aim to build long-term, meaningful relationships grounded in respect, trust and shared understanding, with a focus on:
• protection and care for Country
• social and economic opportunities
• fostering cultural safety and inclusion.

We regularly maintain and improve our energy and water assets to keep them running smoothly. As we prepare for and conduct these works, we work with the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Council and Aboriginal Heritage Officers to undertake heritage surveys and protect important artefacts and places.
