In late January, we have construction and maintenance works starting on the Tarraleah Scheme.

To ensure public safety, Butlers Gorge Road (from the Lyell Highway turnoff) will be closed 24/7 from Tuesday 27 January to the end of March. Mossy Marsh Dam, Clark Dam, the lookout and the boat ramp won’t be accessible during this period.

The Lake King William campground also remains closed.

No 1 Pond will be closed to the public from 16 February to 16 March while Hydro Tasmania undertakes No.1 canal cleaning works.

Butlers Gorge Road remains closed on weekdays from 7am to 5pm.

This closure is required to ensure public safety while we construct a new water intake at Lake King William. There is increased heavy vehicle activity on the road.

The road is open outside of these hours, providing access to the lookout and boat ramp.

The Lake King William campground will remain closed for the foreseeable future. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Access to Mossy Marsh Dam is unchanged and remains open for fishing and recreation.
