Hydro Tasmania has marked a major milestone on upgrades to the Tarraleah hydropower scheme, with the intake tower excavation now complete. Almost a quarter of a million cubic metres of rock and soil were removed to create the deep excavation where the new concrete tower will be constructed.

Rowallan Power Station is back in service following a two-year $30million refurbishment that has added more than 30 years to its operational life.

Lake Rosebery will reopen from 6pm Friday 7 March after eight weeks of response efforts following an oil spill in the Henry Bay area. Booms will remain in place around a very small section of Henry Bay but the boat ramp is now open to the public.

Hydro Tasmania has reached a commercial agreement with LIBERTY Bell Bay to continue to supply electricity for its ferroalloy smelter at George Town over the next decade.
