Hydro Tasmanian has announced the worthy recipients in the latest round of our Community and Innovation Grant programs, providing approximately $40,000 in funding support in 2022.

Hydro Tasmania's highest priority is managing water storages, which will provide Tasmanian homes and businesses with a secure and reliable energy supply. Total energy in storage returned above the Prudent Storage Level last Tuesday, following increased rainfall across Hydro Tasmania’s catchments.

Due to an extremely dry summer and autumn, Hydro Tasmania’s storages are lower than usual for this time of year. Tasmania’s energy storage position remains secure, and Hydro Tasmania – working closely with the State Government - is actively managing water storages.

The 1500MW Marinus Link interconnector is a critical enabler of Battery of the Nation, Hydro Tasmania’s bold vision to maximise Tasmania’s hydropower capacity and add pumped hydro.
