Tarraleah

Update 23 Apr, 2026
The Tarraleah Redevelopment Project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is now available for public comment and input is welcomed!

Our specialist staff across Hydro Tasmania and Entura have completed a comprehensive analysis of the potential environmental impacts and importantly, how we plan to mitigate them.

Our team will be out in the local community during April and May - to answer questions, hear from locals and help you understand how to make a submission.

There’s already been lots of great conversations and questions from the community – Hamilton Show, Tungatinah Power Station Open Days, the Waddamana Open Day held as part of the Derwent Valley’s Autumn Festival. And this week, we visited Bothwell and Hamilton - thank you to everyone who stopped by!

The Tarraleah Scheme has given more than 85 years of faithful service, but it is reaching the end of its operational life. We're proposing to fully redevelop the scheme.
