Project Update – Mar 2025
Some great snapshots from the team on site!
Our focus continues to be on preparing the site - at Edgar Dam, regrowth vegetation has been cleared from the site office and material stockpile areas. Minor clearing of regrowth vegetation has also been completed along Scotts Peak Road for a small stockpile area and on the western side of the dam where sedimentation ponds will be built. Once the project is completed, these cleared areas will be revegetated.
Closer to Gordon River Road, construction of the first biosecurity washdown facility is progressing well and we expect to start pouring the concrete footing and slab works soon.
Offsite, final material selections are underway, ready for placement trials. In these trials, the team will build a test section of the filter buttress, layering sand, gravel and rockfill materials. This trial allows the team to simulate the construction approach and make any final adjustments needed. We also expect casting of the new wave wall.
