The team pegged out the work site and completed important environmental checks, including surveying for the large-bird orchid to ensure appropriate buffer zones are set up.

Sediment fence controls were installed in Edgar Pond, minor road works were completed to strengthen the Gordon River Road / Scotts Peak Road intersection for increased heavy traffic, and an 800m stretch of Scotts Peak Road was sealed in preparation for work starting on a biosecurity wash-down facility. While the wash-down facilities are being built, project vehicles are being disinfected using mobile wash-down facilities.

Looking ahead, our focus through February will be building the wash-down facilities and establishing the site office compound and staff camp.
