Powering up the fun at Agfest 2024
Developed in collaboration with Tassie companies Soda Projects and Before Creative, the Water to Wire Power station featured four engaging tasks to educate and entertain our visitors. From the hands-on challenge of maintaining a generator, to the strategic management of delivering Tasmania's energy, each task offered a unique insight into the world of our teams.
"It's an interactive power station that enables people to get a taste for what happens inside our stations, what keeps the lights running every day," said Jane, Community Engagement Advisor.
But it wasn't just about learning – the games inside the station were a hit with both the young and the young at heart. Our visitors were eager to test their skills and see who could come out on top.

Beyond the games, the station included some amazing pieces of hydro history. The original control panels from Lake Echo Power Station, dating back to the 1950s, were a centrepiece as you entered the power station. And behind them sits a miniature world, depicting the construction of our first hydropower station, Waddamana.

And the fun didn't stop there! With a dedicated chill-out zone and additional family-friendly games in our marquee, there was something for the whole family. A big thank you to the almost 3000 people who joined us across the three days.
"An amazing site for children to learn," said one visitor comment. "Excellent interactive display," said another.

Games for the whole family
Agfest represents more than just an opportunity to showcase our latest projects – it's a chance to connect with you! A lot of work went into our exhibit, and we thank the volunteers from across Hydro Tasmania that helped bring it to life.
