Go BIG with a Hydro Tasmania apprenticeship!
The four-year program gives apprentices a trade on completion and covers TAFE course and tuition fees. Apprentices work on large maintenance and refurbishment projects at hydropower stations across the state. Hydro Tasmania welcomes applications from mature-age candidates — the only age-related requirement is to have finished Year 10 or completed it prior to the start date.
Katrina Nicholson, who joined the program in 2020 at age 19, said it gave her "a meaningful career path, a supportive community, and a chance to be part of something bigger right here in Tassie." Former apprentice Craig Kershaw is now Regional Production Manager. More than 120 applications were received in the first few days of the campaign. Applications available at hydro.com.au/careers/apprenticeships.
