Hydro Tasmania monitors weather forecasts closely. There are forecasts for rain over hydro catchments during the next few days and into the weekend. 

In the leadup to this forecast rainfall, and to maximise its benefit to hydro storages, Hydro Tasmania will:

• Maximise hydro generation from storages that may otherwise spill based on current rainfall forecasts; and

• Reduce gas and diesel generation, due to the need to increase hydro generation to avoid spill.
