Hydro Tasmania welcomes today’s announcement of a joint Federal – State feasibility study into development of a second Bass Strait interconnector.

Hydro Tasmania has been working with the state government for the past 18 months on a study to examine the preconditions necessary to make a second interconnector viable, as part of the government’s Energy Strategy. Hydro Tasmania’s final report is targeted for the end of June.

Today’s announcement is a very positive development.
