• The Tasmanian Government and Hydro Tasmania have outlined a clear plan to ensure energy security, even in the event of an extended Basslink outage, and are implementing that plan.
• Basslink has advised that the cable fault does not appear to be the most common form of fault caused by external impact. From current observations, there does not appear to be any visible damage to the external surface of the cable, which is also uncommon.
• Basslink advises that it is consulting with international cable experts and continues to work around the clock to return the interconnector to operational status.
