Hydro Tasmania’s world-leading renewable energy integration project on King Island has attained another huge milestone.

Hydro Tasmania has an agreement with Tasmanian company SFM Environmental Solutions to harvest submerged special species timber from Lake Pieman, in a venture known as Hydrowood. Hydrowood has begun underwater logging operations at Lake Pieman/Reece Dam and this activity will continue for approximately two years. An exclusion zone around the operation is defined with yellow buoys. Instructions stating the marine channel to use and other restrictions will be posted on signs.

Specialist power and water consulting firm Entura has appointed Alan Barrett to the role of Business Development Manager, Water. Based in Darwin, Northern Territory, Mr Barrett will focus on partnering with clients in the water sector in mainland Australia.
