Hydro Tasmania created the Waterway Health Monitoring Program in 1998 to ensure we are proactive in assessing, understanding and responding to the impacts of our operations on the aquatic environment.
The Program is embedded in our procedures and provides a monitoring and reporting framework to assess and document the health of waterways in the hydro-electric generation system. Data on water quality, biological indicators and physical conditions are collected on a rotational basis and reviewed to find where problems are indicated.
