Arts Partnerships

Hydro Tasmania sponsors the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Ten Days on the Island festival and Arts at Work.

Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

Our sponsorship of the orchestra’s Australian Music Program meets Hydro Tasmania's commitment to improving the quality of life in the Tasmanian community and excellence in the arts, while promoting Tasmanian skills and expertise throughout the state, the nation and internationally.

The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra is one of Tasmania's best-loved and most respected cultural institutions.

Ten Days on the Island

This is Tasmania’s premier arts festival and Hydro Tasmania has been a proud supporter since its inception in 2001. Hydro Tasmania looks forward to maintaining a strong commitment to bringing arts to the community by continuing to be a major sponsor for the 2007 festival.

Ten Days on the Island is Tasmania's premier arts festival.

Arts at Work

In 2005 the partnership between Arts at Work and Hydro Tasmania forged relationships between Tasmanian artists, school children, parents, teachers and the community.

Tasmanian Living Artists’ Week 2005 saw the emergence of the “Artists in Schools” program - a new concept connecting talented artists with enthusiastic school children. Twenty-nine artists worked within twenty-seven school communities state-wide, resulting in a delicious mix of artistry and exuberance.

The Australian Business Arts Foundation presented this partnership with the Partnership Award in 2006.

Similar educational residential programs are being explored through this partnership in order to make the arts experience more accessible to the children in our community.
