In 2005 Hydro Tasmania entered a joint venture with the CLP Group to create the wind energy business Roaring 40s, which now develops, manages and operates wind farms throughout the Asian and Australasian regions, including the 140 MW Woolnorth wind farm in Tasmania formerly owned by Hydro Tasmania.
