Committed to our communities

Hydro Tasmania is committed to making a genuine difference to the communities in which we operate; our commitment comes in the form of our community initiative.

Financial support is provided to community organisations through our sponsorship program >

We are building partnerships to add to that financial support by providing opportunities for our people to volunteer and assist with community programs.

Fundraising events are also run to support charities and causes nominated by our people. Our Easter 2011 Charity Raffle provided over $2000 each to Meals on Wheels, Able Australia (Tasmania) and Lifeline.

And we encourage our people to volunteer their own time and effort to support their local communities. Our people contribute in excess of 10,000 hours of voluntary community service annually to causes and events ranging from coaching junior sport, serving on the Boards of charitable organisations, participating in volunteer fire brigades, and raising funds.

Our people raised over $13,000 for people affected by the devastating Queensland floods of early 2011, funds matched dollar for dollar by Hydro Tasmania.
