Pacific Aluminium announcement welcomed

Hydro Tasmania has welcomed Pacific Aluminium’s announcement regarding the continued operation of its Bell Bay Aluminium Smelter.

CEO Roy Adair said this was a positive outcome following constructive negotiations over the power supply component.

“This commercial transaction was struck on principles that dealt to the respective trading conditions faced by Hydro Tasmania and Pacific Aluminium,” Mr Adair said.

“The transaction constitutes a commercial solution that provides improved flexibility and certainty for both the Bell Bay Aluminium Smelter and Hydro Tasmania.”
